Australian Soccer Trading Card History In 1963 Scanlens introduced the modern Soccer trading card to Australia with it's first soccer trading card release. Scanlens produced two further release for soccer in 1965 and 1979. Futera entered the market with a soccer trading card release in 1994. Select Australia produced soccer trading cards for the newly formed A-League from the 2006-07 season through to 2009-10 season. In 2013-14 season SE Products produced the first Australian trading card release in 4 years. In 2014-15 the Tap n Play company took over the production of soccer trading card release and are set to launch their second set in 2015-16. International Soccer Trading Card History In the 1940's and 50's the A&BC Company produced football cards for the English market. In the 1970's the Topps company took over the football card market producing cards through the 70's and 80's. From the 1980's on several other companies have produced football trading card release for competitions all around the world. Topps, Upper Deck and Panini are the major players in this market today. |
